The new taste of Häme
Häme has become even richer in many flavors as the amount of restaurants has expanded. Within a year, several new restaurants have been opened in Häme, bringing new, fresh breezes to the restaurant culture of our region. Visit Häme’s bloggers visited the three new restaurants and tested their offerings. Vanai Bistro & Bastu
The urban Vanai Bistro & Bastu restaurant is located on the shores of Vanajavesi, in the depot of Hämeenlinna. The atmosphere in the restaurant is bright and fresh. The restaurant serves simple Finnish food; your food may be prepared with passion by the restaurateur himself. The bar side offers everything from vegan wines to small brewery beers.
Vanai is not just a restaurant, as it offers the opportunity to have a sauna right by the Vanajavesi! The sauna premises will be built during the spring of 2022. There will be public sauna shifts, the possibility of private events and an outdoor hot tub. So if you want, you can combine a sauna evening and a professionally prepared meal, or just enjoy one experience at a time.
Puisto Brgr
Puisto Brgr is an atmospheric fast casual restaurant in the heart of Hämeenlinna. The atmosphere of the restaurant is homely urban. At the heart of Puisto Brgr’s operations are artisan burgers made with love. The selection also includes ribs and delicious “potato bowls”. There is something for everyone: gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan burgers!
In the Puisto Brgr, you can enjoy Finnish local food: the food is made from fresh ingredients and 100% Finnish meat produced directly on local farms. Potato brioches are prepared in the Katinala bakery, with a together planned recipe. If the restaurants in the center of Hämeenlinna have already become thoroughly familiar, this is a great place for a new favorite restaurant!
R35 Bar & Kitchen
A new R35 Bar & Kitchen has been opened at Riihimäki railway station. When you step in the R35, you will immediately notice that you are not in the most common station restaurant right now. The restaurant is elegant and perfect for a taste of Mediterranean flavors or even a bar in the evening. The Riihimäki station restaurant has a long history since the 1860s and the space has been renovated respecting its history.
The restaurant serves rich Mediterranean flavors, from artisan pizza to pasta and risotto. The wines also come from the Mediterranean region. Special Segafredo coffee specialties are also available. Jump off the train at Riihimäki and get to know what the R35 has to offer during a business trip. Or pick up the guys and ride the car on site to enjoy a Mediterranean dinner in good company.
