Ypäjä

Ypäjä municipality is located in the beautiful area of Kanta-Häme, just a bit over one hour’s drive from Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku. Ypäjä was founded in 1876, and now has about 2300 inhabitants. The Loimijoki River flows through beautiful forests and traditional green fields area. The magnificent, pure, and clean nature of Ypäjä offers fantastic surroudings for leisure travel. The municipality of Ypäjä offers affordable and varied living options, and different kind of house plots, even for a horse farm.

Ypäjä is often called the capital horse city in Finland. We are best known for horses and horse events here. If You are a ”horselover”, you will find it all here. Every year various horse races, show jumping, and dressage competions, combined driving competions, several trainings, and courses take place in Ypäjä. Equine College of Ypäjä is one of the largest horse academies in Finland, offering education in vocational and further schooling.

However, there is also a wide range of other activities and events, from SUP paddle boarding to golfing, and from many village markets to Ypäjän Yö, and Pertun Päivät – a local event in August. We also have a very professional music theater, whose shows are often sold out.
