Löyttymäki

Löyttymäki has a common village association with Jokimaa. Löyttymäki has once had a manor house whose owners included Leo Mechelin, a renowned professor and statesman in the 19th century. The painters Helene Schjerfbeck and Maria Wiik have also enjoyed themselves at the Manor. Onni Oja, an artist professor, also hails from Löyttymäki. His memorial plaque is on the side of a stone in front of the school.

Löyttymäki’s history can be explored by looking for cultural ticks in the village where there is still a glimpse of the venues and buildings of past times.
