More information

Located east of Lake Aulangonjärvi, Sibelius Forest is a peaceful nature reserve where tall trees create a unique atmosphere. The landscape and nature of the area have inspired the composer Jean Sibelius, and the nature trail takes you through the same scenery where he walked in his youth.

Description

The nature trail is just under two kilometres long and features nine information boards in Finnish and English about the forest’s natural environment and cultural history. In 2021, the trail was extended with the approximately two-kilometre Levonkorpi Loop, which introduces visitors to beliefs and traditions associated with trees.
The conservation and management of Sibelius Forest focus on preserving the nationally significant landscape, natural environment and unique atmosphere of the forest. The trail offers an opportunity to enjoy a peaceful walk, observe nature and experience the changing seasons.
