Evo Green Gold tour
Saarelantie, Hämeenlinna
Hämeenlinna
Description
The route offers nature experiences for the whole day – peace and quiet, the silence of the forest, and picnic breaks on top of ridges or at lakeshores.
The route takes in the varied landscapes of Evo Hiking Area, where forested ridges, cliffs, and many lakes form a varied environment. Most of the route follows well-maintained dirt roads and outdoor trails, with some transfer sections along paved roads.
The surroundings of Häme University of Applied Sciences’ Evo student campus serve as a focal point of the route and an excellent base. The area offers rental cottages, places to camp, and bookable huts, which are ideal for cyclists staying overnight for the first time, as well as experienced cyclists. There is also an extensive network of marked hiking trails, lean-to shelters, campfire sites, and lots of geocaches, which encourage you to rest and explore the area on foot.
Evo Green Gold Gravel loop takes in the unique landscapes of a watershed region, while tranquil lakes such as Lake Niemisjärvi offer opportunities for recreation, fishing, or just taking a break by the water.
Evo is located within 1-2 hours’ drive from the major cities of Southern Finland: Helsinki, Tampere, Lahti, and Hämeenlinna. Evo’s student campus can also be reached by bus from Hämeenlinna.
