The shores of clear-water Lake Pilkutin provide a day trip destination for the whole family. The area has a hut shelter, two sets of tables and benches, a changing cubicle for swimming, a woodshed and a dry toilet. There is a small sandy swimming area on the shore.
Camping and staying overnight in the area is prohibited.
The nearby trails are easy to walk and well suited for mountain biking. The Poronpolku reindeer trails which are part of the Hämeen Ilvesreitti (Häme Lynx Trail) trail network, pass by the Pilkutin rest area.
