We’ve gathered the Top 10 tourist attractions in the Riihimäki region below.

1. The Finnish Glass Museum

As the national specialist museum for glass, the Finnish Glass Museum presents the history and design of glass. Visitors can explore over 4,000 years of glass history and a 300-year tradition of Finnish glassmaking.
In addition to its historical permanent exhibition, the museum features changing exhibitions showcasing the finest international and Finnish utility and art glass, glass art, and design — including rare historical collections from around the world.

The Finnish Glass Museum is a must-see attraction located near the old Riihimäki glass factory (1910–1990). After the factory closed, new businesses moved into the premises — including  Lasismi, where you can experience the thrill of glassblowing and enjoy an unforgettable moment with hot glass.

Also located in the former factory premises is Glass Studio Mafka & Alakoski, offering visitors a chance to watch professional glassblowers at work.

Just under a kilometer from the museum is Hyttikortteli, a residential area built for the glass factory workers in the early 1900s. In Hyttikortteli, you’ll find Potti — a combined glassblowing studio and shop run by glassblower Pekka Paunila.
