Valkjärvi is a popular outdoor recreation area situated between two bodies of water. From the top of the rocky summit, there are magnificent views of both Valkjärvi and the smaller, adjacent Kivenpuulampi pond. The area offers opportunities for a wide range of activities in both summer and winter.

Description

Located in the village of Puujaa, the Valkjärvi outdoor recreation area is a scenic destination featuring magnificent lake views and pine trees.

The area features a barbecue shelter available for public use, with a capacity of approximately 10 people.

The Valkjärvi swimming beach has a sandy bottom and deepens relatively quickly; supervision is required even in the designated children's swimming area. Popular activities among visitors include stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), with a route circling the island of Isosaari being a particular favorite.

Saunas and a fully equipped main building (accommodating around 40 people) are available for rent. During the summer season, four 4-person accommodation cabins can also be rented. Use of the rental facilities includes access to a boat moored at the pier.

In winter, the area offers opportunities for winter swimming on Mondays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, during which time the sauna is heated for visitors.
