The two golf courses at Aulanko, the historic 9-hole Hugo course and the modern 18-hole Eversti course, are both named after Colonel Hugo Standertskjöld . The Colonel was one of the wealthiest men of his time in Finland and the founder of the English style landscape park at Aulanko in the 1880’s.

Aulanko is located in the city of Hämeenlinna, no more than an hour by car from Helsinki. The golf season at Aulanko normally starts in early May and ends in mid-October.
