Sibelius Park is a beautiful small park located in the heart of the city of Hämeenlinna. The park is named after the famous Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius, who was born nearby. The centerpiece of the park is a large statue of young Jean Sibelius. The musical benches, also known as Sibelius benches, were installed in the park in 2015 as part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Jean Sibelius. When you sit on the benches they start palying pieces of Sibelius’ piano composition for trees.
Next to the park stands the Lyceum school where Sibelius studied. You can also visit the Birthplace of Jean Sibelius only one block away from the park.
