## About the Region

Kanta-Häme is a region in southern Finland comprising 11 municipalities: Hämeenlinna, Riihimäki, Forssa, Loppi, Janakkala, Tammela, Ypäjä, Hattula, Jokioinen, Hausjärvi, and Humppila. The region is located approximately one hour by road from Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku, making it an accessible destination for day trips and weekend getaways. Approximately 64% of the land area is covered by forest and 9% is water. The region has been inhabited since the Stone Age and is notable as the birthplace of composer Jean Sibelius.
